Eagle Scout

William passed his Eagle board of Review on Saturday afternoon. They kind of surprised him because they said they would schedule it for sometime in September. Then Saturday morning they called and said they were going to be able to get enough people together that afternoon.

Alrighty then.

So he went and passed, but we hadn't gotten his picture done yet so we couldn't mail it all back in.

Quick, Aunt Gretchen to the rescue!!! William hightailed it to her town, (100 miles round trip) and was home Saturday night before Lucy and Rachel made it home from the tailgate party that the school held downtown to kick off football season.

We got the pics back this morning. (Thanks Sis. Moffitt!) and the application goes in the mail today.

Now we just have to have his Court of Honor (and I am not even in charge of that! High Five Scout Committee and delegation!!!!) and then we are done.

Hey, who is that sneaking around the corner about to start an Eagle Project?!?!?!?!?!

HARRISON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Cynthia,

Is this the sis moffitt in our stake?

I know we have talked about this before, but are you in my stake.

And, if so, why have I not met you yet?

Congrats on the eagle thing. YIPPEE!

ok now I have time to comment some longer sappier comment than before. I was too rushed the first time. I just wanted William to know how proud I was of him. Not until I have acutally had two boy scouts of my own have I realized the hard work and dedication it takes to be a boy scout and get an eagle. It is not something you can just do on a whim. It takes tons of effort and dedication. Not to mention while you were playing basketball and attending church-seminary- being the oldest brother of 6 kids and keeping up your grades while helping your dad work on his lastest house flip and all the other tons and tons of stuff you do. I am so proud of you and your accomplishment. When I sat on my first board of review to interview a scout up for tenderfoot this past Sunday I realized how much this will help you later in life when you have job interviews. This is an incredible life skill you will always have and the knowledge you can take forever.....ok I really just wanted you to know I love you and am so proud of your example and leadership to B and A.
Good Job buddy!!!
