Mariposa is hosting Fun Monday this week. Our assignment was twofold:
(1) Please share to us how the NAME of your BLOG was made? I can't wait to hear interesting funny stories!
(2) Please share to us (in words or photo, though a combination of both will be a bonus!) your favorite/ most common dish!
In a truly confusing fashion which is a trademark of my life I am going to answer number two before number one. So here is my most favorite dish in a ll the world. I even bought the ingredients to make it but forgot the cole slaw dressing, so no picture. Sorry. I will post one when I end up making it!
Cynthia's Chicken Salad
1 large can cooked chicken
3 cups uncooked large pasta
2 cups red grapes
2 cups celery
1/2 cup scallion
1 large can crushed pineapple
2 cups diced apple
Cook pasta, drain and allow to cool. Place diced apples in very large bowl and pour pineapple over them, mix well. This prevents the apple from getting all brown and gross looking. Now add everything else. In a smaller bowl mix the dressing:
1 cup mayonnaise
1 cup cole slaw dressing
Pour dressing over salad. Chill if you can wait. Or eat it right out of this large bowl while sitting on the couch watching The Avengers- the episodes with Mrs. Peel, thank you very much!

Now for the question of my name. I just kind of randomly thought of it. I originally called it Mom's Urban Myths in the Rural South and then one day I just changed it. And so here is my dilemma. Should I change the name of my blog? I have been thinking about Undercover Mother ever since Catherine Newman used the term in an article she wrote in Wondertime last month. It was an article about why moms blog. What does everyone think? I have no emotional attachment to Dahhhling I love you. I just picked it one day cause sometimes I feel like Lisa on Green Acres. But I don't even like the show Green Acres. So I have put a poll above this to get your opinions. I have made most of my blogging friends through Fun Monday, so you are the ones that I would like to get an opinion from. If you want to suggest something, just leave it in the comment. And when this is all said and done I am getting a new professional header from Carrie. So I am not going to change again if I do change now. Oh, and I also reserve the right to ignore every ones suggestions. Not that I don't love you all, but I am finicky. And I am going to want Adrian's opinion, and sometimes I like him best. Sorry to disappoint you all. Hey, what about Wife of Adrian? I may add that to the poll...

Oh a recipe to go with your favorite food! How wonderful is that!? I'll go back up and see about voting for a blog name...
Have a great week...
Hmmm, I wonder how that would be with tofu rather than chicken....some day, if I had time....
Your salad sounds wonderful!!! I like your name, but then again I liked your old name also....just as long as you don't change, I don't care what you name your blog!!!
Whatever you name your blog, it should be something that has a connection to you - that means something.
Your salad sounds wonderful - perfect for a summer luncheon!
How about "What the Hale?"
Oh, man! Adrian has made so many Hale jokes over the years. He wanted to call his backhoe service Hale hoe. teeheee
I voted to leave the name of your blog the same.
Now, make that chicken salad, bring it over, and we'll serve it out of my favorite dish...the Oklahoma one.
I like What the Hale...didn't think of that one.
I do think that you should change the name to something catchier (shorter) I am trying to think of something, but it is hard work to come up with something, especially when you know so much more about yourself than I do.
Lucky for me, my hubby named my blog...i didn't get the say in the matter. I don't think that I would have chosen imsofunny because I am really not that funny, but I have kept it because I love it that he chose it!
I think you need to come up with something unique about living out in the sticks...
It's hale-ing in the sticks...yeah, that's bad....good luck
Even if you keep your name, I will still read and love! And I honor you reserving the right to keep your name!
Now see, you named a "dish" as in food. Swampy photographed a "dish" as in a dish...bowl...etc. NLM took pictures of his food tonight. This is going to be an interesting Fun Monday!! I like your name as is, by the way. :)
I like the first name (the Urban Myths) or the Undercover mother.
Well a lady can always change her mind right? And it sounds like your blogger friends will follow regardless.
What an unusual chicken salad recipe--never heard of the pasta angle. Will try it.
Thanks for the recipe, and ha, so far, people seems to like your name as it is...that includes me!
Happy Fun Monday!
I love a pasta salad and yours sounds really good.
As for the name I'm only just getting used to this one but if you are changing the header then this is the time for a total spring clean!
I like Ben's suggestion!
I like the name as is.
The salad looks great, will HAVE to try it!
(The Avengers, huh? Maybe I'll give up my ALIAS Dvd's for a while and try it.)
Lisa
How about using your tag-line, "Letting it all hang out in rural Tennessee" Carrie just did my banner. Love it.
The recipe sounds lovely. I'll try it.
I like your name too. But What the Hale is pretty funny and catchy.
The chicken salad sounds so yummy!
The food sounds fab, and I voted for Undercover Mother. It's such a ersonal thing in some ways isn't it? And I love the cute picture in your header. I', assuming that small person belongs to you. :D
WOOO HOOOO!!!! I won this week!! Beat you to it!!!! (And I gave you plenty of time)
I love love chicken salad. This recipe looks really good. I like using your recipes, you usually don't steer me wrong!! Of course I'm gonna leave out the scallions!!
As far as your blog name, I liked your first one better, but that's just my opinion!!
Youre right - this is your big chance to change it. I say go for it. The name always made me think you were a transplant from NYC.
Your salad sounds great. A rose by any other name....
I vote for What the Hale?
Undercover Mother sounds cool!
Um, if you read my post about how I chose a name for my blog, you know I can't help you with this;o) It has to be the hardest thing about blogging! I do think I've heard of another blog called Undercover Mother, though, so you may want to google it first.
The chicken salad sounds delish!
What a yummy recipe!
I love the name Undercover Mother- I'm voting for that one. But, like Jenni said- you should probably make someone else isn't already using that.
There are so many blogs with mother in the title. I think the Dahhhling one is funny and different, and it doesn't obligate you to own the boxed sets of Green Acres.
Your salad recipe sounds great.
That salad looks yummie!
